Xin Yao

Professor Xin Yao is an internationally recognised researcher in natural computation, especially evolutionary computation. He is a fellow of IEEE, the editor-in-chief of IEEE Transactions on Evolutionary Computation, an associate editor of four international journals, and an editorial board member of five other international journals.

He led a successful bid to EPSRC in 2000 to set up an MSc in Natural Computation at Birmingham - the only MSc in the world exclusively for natural computation. He is the Director of CERCIA and leads the Natural Computation Group.
